Dale Gibbons is an entrepreneur, writer and speaker. He owns two businesses and publishes three newsletters which reach thousands of professionals monthly including:
Lean Business: A monthly newsletter for CI Center members--professionals dedicated to continuously improving themselves and their businesses with the help of tools like Lean and Six Sigma and timeless management and leadership principles.
I.T. Leadership: A monthly newsletter specifically for leaders in the information technology industry and published for clients and fans of ebit Information Systems, a company Dale owns. He, after assembling a great team of approximately 40 employees, helped transform ebit into the fourth largest IT firm in the greater Louisville area.
Your Monthly Guide to Career Success: A monthly publication for employees who want to advance in their careers and make an impact in the lives of others.
A graduate of Purdue University, Dale began his career in the aerospace industry in 1987 as a field service liaison with General Electric's aircraft engine group.
During his 5 years with GE, Dale lived in four countries working with the Air Force and various commercial airlines. During his time with GE, he also worked in manufacturing as part of his apprenticeship at GE.
His final foreign assignment was Sao Paulo Brazil. While there, he left GE and began work as a freelance consultant for American firms new to the Brazilian marketplace. It was during this time he began working in the IT industry with Compaq as one of his clients. Two years later, with plans for quenching his entrepreneurial thirst, he returned to the states with his new family.
After investing 7 more years with firms like EDS and Manpower, Inc., Dale acquired a small IT training firm in 2005. After applying his passion for marketing and process improvement, he reinvented the business. Dale then went to work assembling a great team to help execute the new strategy for the company, and has since grown it to five times 2005 revenue. Ebit Information Systems is now ranked 4th on the Business First list of 50 largest Louisville area I.T. firms.
In 2008, with the help of a consultant, Dale and his team were able to use Lean and Six Sigma tools to further streamline operations into easy to run and manage systems at the company. This has allowed Dale the opportunity to promote a key team member into the top position at ebit and launch The Continuous Improvement Center in early 2009.
